Ms. Chao is an associate attorney, and the newest member of our team. Prior to joining the Borden Law Office, Ms. Chao worked as a law clerk and legal assistant for firms specializing in wrongful death, medical malpractice, immigration, and construction defect litigation.
Ms. Chao received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was a member and the Vice President of Marketing of the Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity. Ms. Chao went on to receive her J.D. from the Pepperdine University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Chao earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute, the top-ranked dispute resolution program in the nation.
Ms. Chao is proficient in Japanese and fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Her passions include traveling, snowboarding and the UCLA Bruins.

Mr. Borden is an experienced probate attorney, specializing in all aspects of Estate, Trust and Conservatorship litigation and administration. He serves and actively participates in the Los Angeles Superior Court Probate Volunteer Panel and Pro Per Guardianship Program of the South Bay Bar Association Estates and Trusts Section, and is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the California State Bar. He is regularly appointed by California courts to act as: personal representative of decedents’ estates, Trustee of court supervised and unsupervised living Trusts, court appointed PVP counsel for proposed conservatees, and Guardian ad Litem for parties in probate court proceedings. He has also authored several chapters in practice books offered by Continuing Education of the Bar – California.
Mr. Borden graduated cum laude from the University of Colorado (Boulder) in 1991, and earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California in 1995. He was admitted to practice law in the State of California in 1995 and established Borden Law Office in 1996. Since that time, Alex has specialized in all aspects of Estate, Trust, and Conservatorship administration and litigation.
